DEATH
IS A GRAVE MISTAKE
After Leonard liberated
himself from his death urge in 1967, he became fascinated with studying
life extension, longevity and youthing, or what he calls simply the concept
and practice of physical immortality; but he noticed that the authors of
most of the books he had read on the subject had died.
One minister
that Leonard discussed, was called Harry Gaze, who had written a book called
How
To Live Forever. He gave a series of lectures on physical immortality
at the Hollywood Church of Religious Science, and the second week he did
not show up.
Everybody
including Leonard was waiting and wondering where he was. He died in an
automobile accident on the way to the lecture! Leonard decided from then
on, not to trust anyone who taught physical immortality unless they were
at least three hundred years old.
He realized
that just the belief in physical immortality was not enough to stay alive
forever. He felt there was a missing component that glued it all together,
and he thought that the only way to find out, was to go to India and study
the yogis that had mastered it.
He arbitrarily
picked this age as a prerequisite for his study of the Immortal Yogi Masters.
THE UNCONSCIOUS DEATH URGE.
Even Sondra Ray would acknowledge
Leonard for having the guts to speak out publicly in America about physical
immortality, because way back then, the idea was not that acceptable, there
was a lot of resistance to it, and people thought it was "irrational."
But Leonard kept challenging people to defy their thoughts about death!
Leonard
concluded that, "Rebirthing as unravelling the birth/death cycle takes
longer than learning to breathe energy....it involves personal liberation
from birth trauma, infancy consciousness, family patterns, and the death
urge. It involves mind and body mastery."
So to
actually break the death habit and experience our full aliveness, there
is another factor that we have to deal with, and that is called our unconscious
death urge; this is a real psychic entity that can be isolated in your
own mind and destroyed. It is composed of anti-life thoughts and beliefs,
such
as "Death is inevitable and beyond our control" or "People are out to get
me and harm me," and we absorb this programming from our parents and ancestors
and society.
Leonard
feels that, "All death is suicide, and that physical death is involuntary
purification for people who don't practice it voluntarily." The idea that
death is inevitable has killed more people than all other causes of death
combined.
